This project is perfect for kids ages 2-5 years old. The steps are simple enough that even an adult could complete this project in no time at all!
Choose a theme for the Storybook
You will need to choose a theme before starting this project. There are so many themes available, such as animals, colors, seasons, holidays, etc. Pick one that you think your kid would enjoy.
Start with finding images online. Search Google Images for the theme you chose. Once you find an image that you like, download it to your computer. Then open up Photoshop Elements (or another photo editing program) and import the image into the program.
Now add some text to the image. You can use any font you want, as long as it's legible. If you're not sure how to do this, check out any tutorial on adding text to photos on Youtube. Remember, kids of that age respond better to images than too much text so take it easy on the amount of text you add to the story.
Personalize your storybook
Now is the time to personalize the story with your child’s name and his or her favorite characters. Make the story exciting by making sure that the characters from tv and movies that your child likes are represented in the story.
Print it out
Once you've added text to the photo, print it out onto card stock paper. This will make it easier to cut out shapes later.
Give it as a gift
You can also give it as a gift to another family member or friend who has a baby. It's a wonderful keepsake for them to treasure forever.
